Tips to save money on cleaning clothing.
If you get your blood on an item of clothing, use your own spit to remove it. There is a chemical reaction between the same person’s blood and spit that removes the stain.
Grandma’s Tip – If you get ink on an item of clothing, spray some hairspray on the ink. Let the hairspray set, then rinse. Repeat if needed.
Grandma’s Tip – If you get wax on a piece of clothing and it has not seeped into the fabric, put it in the freezer. Once the wax is frozen, remove it from the surface by peeling it off.
Grandma’s Tip – If the wax has seeped into the fabric, use an iron on a low setting and a paper towel to absorb the wax. Place the paper towel over the wax and run the warm iron over the spot to heat the wax so it is drawn up into the paper towel. Repeat as often as necessary to remove the wax.
