You can make your own lip gloss for pennies.
Historically, people used bear fat to keep their lips from cracking in the elements. There are two ways to make lip gloss today: one is to use a petroleum jelly (like Vaseline®), the other is to use a vegetable shortening (like Crisco®).
In a small bowl, add 2 tablespoons of the petroleum jelly and one packet of Kool-Aid®. Mix well with a toothpick. Store in a small container.
In a small, microwave safe bowl add 2 tablespoons of shortening. Microwave 10 seconds at a time until the shortening is melted. Add one packet of Kool-Aid® and mix well with a toothpick. Pour into a small container and let set.
